This museum is special to me as this was my first visit to an art museum, the NEUE STAATSGALERIE, Stuttgart. The museum opened in 1984 and I had the chance to visit it in 1986.
I was really impressed by the building as well as the art of course. Now having a second look at especially at the building I value the extraordinary vision and work of interesting architects, such as James Stirling.
The Neue Staatsgalerie, a controversial architectural design byJames Stirling, opened on March 9, 1984 on a site right next to the old building. It houses a collection of 20th-century modern art— fromPablo Picasso to Oskar Schlemmer,Joan Miró and Joseph Beuys.
