A new video has been released that shows 10 years of activity on the surface of the Sun compressed into just over 60 minutes.
During the video, viewers can see an almost complete solar cycle. The Sun goes through a solar cycle roughly once every 11 years in which its north and south magnetic poles swap places.
The video shows solar flares which are sudden explosions on the Sun's surface. Every now and again the video goes completely dark. These are the moments when Earth or the Moon passes between the Sun and the SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory - NASA spacecraft).
Enjoy !
