Two British women have broken the record for the fastest time travelling around the world on a tandem bicycle. Big congratulations to Cat Dixon and Raz Marsden who set off on their journey on 29th June 2019 from Oxford in England and arrived back in the UK on 18th March 2020 (their record was confirmed on 29th July).
In total they travelled through 25 countries cycling 18,263 miles / 29391.44 km in 263 days, 8 hours and 7 minutes. They beat both the previous women's and men's records. The previous record of 281 days was set by UK cyclists Edward Collier and Louis Paul Snellgrove.
They also raised more than £40,000 for charity. Next they say they want to cycle the length of Great Britain from Land's End in Cornwall to John o'Groats in Caithness Scotland.
